Dr. Ramaswamy was selected as the USA collaborator of an awarded, FP7-IRSES HEPTAG EXCHANGE Program grant. The main purpose of the HEPTAG EXCHANGE is to enable the development of biomarker-functionalized vehicles through project owners’ and researchers’ networking, information exchange and technology transfer. The project is funded within the 7th Framework Program of the Directory General Research of the European Commission under number FP7-PEOPLE-2011-IRSES-295218. This exchange programme comprises 50 person-months, over four years from 2012 to 2015.
FP7-HEPTAG EXCHANGE Program consists of a consortium of four universities:

Dr. Ramaswamy is directing the research activities from the FIU side, primarily focused on super paramagnetic iron oxide labeling of
cells for targeted cell therapy of liver cancer. The project title is: Targeted delivery for liver cancer treatment (Heptag exchange). The
project PI is Dr. James Z. Tang from the University of Wolverhampton. The project funding is €105,000.
